“Over the last few weeks, I have been to 2 of Debs workshops at NAB Village in Geelong, as well as a private consultation which she gave me for free. DEBs workshops where jam packed with ideas and resources. She gave all participants a USB to keep with financial spread sheets and went through these step by step, answered questions along the way. This was fantastic for someone like me who is just starting out.
In the workshops and my free session, Deb provided really up to date and relevant tips on how to advertise/market oneself in various settings and provided several contacts for printing and marketing resources.
In the workshops DEB gave us opportunities to ask questions and provided information and practical ideas about business planning and finance.
She was also there for me outside of the workshops to bounce ideas off when I was working out my business name and logo.
In contrast, this week I attended a one on one free mentor session with someone from SBMS. While this person obviously enjoyed helping people, I found this mentor much less experienced and knowledgeable about everything business.
I think what is good about Deb as a mentor is that she listens, and then responds, rather than having a set agenda of what she wants to share.
